Alan Booth, Ophir Energy’s interim chief executive, has said the company is still looking to reach financial close on the Fortuna FLNG project in Equatorial Guinea by the end of the year, dispelling reports that the company had sidelined the project following difficulties.

The company said it is engaged in “active discussions on [the] partnering and financing of [the] project with credible and well-financed third parties” to obtain financing.
