Trinidad and Tobago’s authorities have placed an 8 km demarcation zone around a ruptured gas pipeline that began leaking a mix of gas and mud into the Gulf of Paria last week, according to the Newsday newspaper.

Hayden Romano, managing director of the country’s Environmental Management Authority, said no oil was being emitted from the ruptured well.
