The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has said the economy of Trinidad and Tobago is slowly recovering from a lengthy recession.

“With signs of improvement driven by energy sector growth from H2 2018, the economy is expected to return to positive growth in 2018 as the recovery takes hold in the non-energy sector,” the Washington-based financial institution said on Friday.

However, the IMF recommended that the Caribbean country should focus on boosting growth in sectors other than energy.
