The government of new Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador will honour oil and gas contracts awarded via the country’s bid rounds in recent years provided no wrongdoing is uncovered during an audit of the tender process, the country’s likely future finance minister said last week.

“If it looks good, on we go. It’s a contract we have to respect,” Reuters quoted Carlos Urzua as saying.
