Italian transmission system operator Snam has acquired a 70% stake in biomethane producer IES Biogas through its subsidiary Snam4Mobility, in a €4 million ($4.7 million) deal.
IES Biogas is involved in the design, construction and management of biogas and biomethane production facilities and has a 10% share of the Italian biogas and biomethane market.
Snam plans to build four LNG plants in Italy and intends to use both natural gas and biomethane to fuel them.
