Piotr Wozniak, chief executive of Polish energy company PGNiG, has said his company is considering investing in gas extraction projects in southern Europe and will present a plan by September, Polish News Bulletin reported on Wednesday.

Countries being considered include Greece, Romania and Bulgaria. Wozniak said more gas extraction projects are needed in southern Europe to counter the dominance of Russia’s Gazprom, which will be strengthened by the completion of the Turkish Stream pipeline in 2019.
