Bangladesh aims to supply all households in the country with electricity by July 2019, The Hindu Business Line reported on Sunday.

Bangladesh is looking to import power generated by renewables from India to help meet this target.

Bangladesh currently imports 500 MW through the Bheramara-Bherampur interconnector and is looking to bring in an additional 500 MW through the same link. It also aims to import 160 MW through the Tripura-Comilla interconnector.
