China National Petroleum Corp.’s (CNPC’s) Changqing Oilfield subsidiary aims to produce 38 billion cubic metres of gas this year to ensure enough supply for the coming winter heating season, according to CNPC

Changqing, which operates in northern China’s Ordos Basin, plans to add 10 bcm/y of production capacity by drilling 2,300 new wells. The subsidiary produced 36.9 bcm in 2017, up by 1.2% from 2016, and is the main source of gas for the four Shaanxi-Beijiing pipelines.
