Japan paid an average of $9.67/MMBtu for its imported LNG in May, an increase of $1.08/MMBtu year on year and the seventh month in a row that prices have risen. The average cost of spot LNG arriving in Japan in May fell to $7.90/MMBtu, according to statistics from Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
