Israel’s second licensing round will be more successful than its first, Yuval Steinitz, the country’s energy minister, told Reuters on Tuesday.
Some Arab countries have indicated their willingness to import Israeli gas, he added.
“I think companies were sceptics about the exporting possibilities” of Israel, Steinitz told the newswire. “Things are different now.”
Steinitz told Bloomberg that Israel’s decision to ease restrictions on how much gas it can export has boosted IOC interest in its acreage.
