Chinese LNG imports up by almost 43% in May

China imported 4.15 mt of LNG in May, up by 42.8% from a year ago, according to data released on Saturday by the General Administration of Customs.

LNG imports in the first five months of 2018 reached 19.87 mt and were worth RMB 57.9 billion ($8.89 billion).

Pipeline imports were up to 3.27 mt in May, an increase of 30.4%, and reached 14.93 mt over the first five months of the year, at a value of RMB 29.3 billion.
