China’s proposed tariffs on imports of oil and gas from the United States would damage hydrocarbon trading in between the two, analysts have said.

China’s proposed tariffs on imports of oil and gas from the United States, part of a growing trade war, would damage trading in hydrocarbons between the two countries, energy executives and analysts told Reuters this week.

China has threatened to retaliate with a 25% tariff on imports of US crude, gas and coal on 6 July if Washington proceeds with its own tariffs.
