The European Commission has found that Luxembourg allowed two companies in the French-owned Engie group to avoid paying taxes on almost all of their profits for about a decade, resulting in about 120 million ($138.7 million) in unpaid tax, the commission said on Wednesday.

Following an investigation launched in September 2016, the commission concluded that two sets of tax rulings issued by Luxembourg “artificially lowered Engie’s tax burden” in Luxembourg for around 10 years.
