EU agrees more ambitious energy efficiency target

The EU institutions have reached an agreement to increase the bloc's 2030 energy efficiency target to 32.5%, up from 27% currently.

The deal – which includes an upward revisions clause by 2023 – was reached between the European Parliament, the Council of the EU and the European Commission late on Tuesday.
