LNG cargoes from the United States have been favouring East Asia as a destination so far in 2018, with nearly half of all volumes exported being delivered to the region, according to statistics from the US Department of Energy. The Sabine Pass LNG plant exported 6.5 mt of LNG between January and April. The single-biggest recipient of US LNG in 2018 has been South Korea, while China has also taken more than 1 mt.
