Chevron has started production at the second train of the Wheatstone LNG plant on Australia’s northwest coast, the company said on Friday.

At capacity, the $34 billion plant’s two trains are expected to contribute around 6% of the LNG produced in the Asia Pacific region.

Wheatstone, which shipped its first cargo at the end of October 2017, is expected to produce 8.9 mtpa over an estimated 30 years of operation.
