China’s regulators are aiming to announce a decision this year to merge the oil and gas pipeline assets owned by the country’s three state energy giants into a single company, Bloomberg reported on Monday.

The merger would be part of a move to ensure third-party access to state-owned infrastructure. The proposed national pipeline operator, provisionally named China Pipelines Corp., would hold assets with a combined value of up to RMB 500 billion ($78 billion).
