Asian spot LNG prices climbed by 3.63% last week from the previous week, to $9.70/MMBtu, as gas-fired power plants strove to meet air conditioning-related demand caused by above-average temperatures across the region.

Prices in Shandong, Guizhou, Yunnan, Hebei, Beijing and Tianjin dropped by an average of 2.73% as plants in Inner Mongolia, Guizhou and Yunnan cut their ex-works prices. Strong power sector demand pushed up prices in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Fujian by 3.79%.
