Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has put forward a number of ‘red lines’ that would lead his country to go to war in the South China Sea, according to the Nikkei Asian Review.

These include reclamation and island-building activity on Scarborough Shoal, the harassment of the Philippine marine detachment in the Second Thomas Shoal and unilateral drilling for oil and gas within the Philippines’ exclusive economic zone.
