Israel and Lebanon are discussing “new ideas” to resolve a maritime dispute between the two countries, according to an Israeli minister.

“There are some new ideas on the table. More than that I cannot discuss,” Israeli Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz said in a Reuters interview.

Total, Eni and Novatek hold a licence to explore Lebanon's Block 9, part of which crosses the area disputed by Israel and Lebanon.

The IOCs have said they do not intend to explore the disputed part of the block.
