Argentina’s Senate voted to weaken the government’s proposed increases in gas tariffs on Thursday in a symbolic victory for former President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.

The country’s upper house voted 37 to 30 to pull gas pricing back to November 2017 levels and limit future rises to wage growth, Platts reported.
