Argentine independent Tecpetrol has inaugurated a pipeline to transport gas from the Fortín de Piedra block in the Vaca Muerta formation, El Cronista has reported.

The pipeline is 58 km long and has a capacity of 18 million cubic metres per day (MMcm/d).

The company, which is part of the Grupo Techint conglomerate, is currently producing 7.4 MMcm/d from the block, which represents around 10% of gas production in the Neuquén Basin. Tecpetrol has pledged to invest $2.3 billion in Vaca Muerta by 2019.
