Petronas is close to finalising a deal to take a 25% stake in the LNG Canada export project, according to Bloomberg.
Petronas abandoned its own Pacific Northwest LNG project last summer and has been looking at alternatives to become involved in.
The stake will make it the second-largest shareholder in LNG Canada after Shell, which is leading the project. Other stakeholders include Mitsubishi, PetroChina and Kogas.
