Mexican LNG and pipeline gas imports up 10.2% in March

Mexico’s gas imports increased by 10.2% year on year in March, according to Natural Gas Intelligence, which cited official figures.

The country imported 145.5 million cubic metres per day (MMcm/d) during the month, compared with 132.0 MMcm/d in March 2017.

LNG accounted for 23.2 MMcm/d of this, while pipeline gas made up the remaining 122.3 MMcm/d. Imports accounted for 64.4% of Mexico’s gas supply in March.
