China’s rush to increase adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) could limit the scope for natural gas to replace petrol and diesel in the country.

China has the largest fleet of NGVs in the world, with around 5.4 million vehicles at the end of 2017, according to figures from NGV Global. The number grew rapidly between 2012 and 2016 as the country sought to improve its air quality.
