Swiss commodities trader Gunvor Group has chartered Exmar’s FSRU barge for a small-scale LNG import project in Bangladesh, but a lack of suitable vessels to supply it could prevent it from starting up this year.

The barge will be moored at an existing berth of the Karnaphuli Fertiliser Co. (Kafco) at the mouth of the Chittagong River, which can accommodate vessels with a draught of up to 9.2 metres. A traditional FSRU based on an LNG tanker has a draught of around 12 metres, which would...
