TransCanada has secured support from 19 of the 20 First Nations groups along the route of the company’s Coastal GasLink pipeline project, a spokesperson has told The Globe and Mail.

The pipeline will feed LNG Canada’s planned export plant in British Columbia.

“We’ve worked our tails off to build good, strong relationships with these different First Nations,” spokesman Shawn Howard told the paper.

He declined to say which group had not yet given its approval, but it is thought to be the Haisla Nation Council.
