ONGC outlines plan to double gas output

India’s Oil and Natural Gas Corp. (ONGC) plans to double its gas production over the next 3-4 years, from 24 billion cubic metres per year to 50 bcm/y, according to The Hindu Business Line.

The Krishna-Godavari Basin off the coast of Andhra Pradesh will play a crucial role in improving India’s energy security. ONGC expects to produce 25.87 mtpa of oil and 45.28 bcm/y of gas from acreage in the basin by 2034-2035.
