Russia’s Novatek has selected the location for its proposed LNG transshipment facility on the Kamchatka Peninsula, the company announced on Friday.
“A location has been determined: it is Bechevinskaya Bay,” Alexander Fridman, first deputy chairman of Novatek’s board, told reporters in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, the region’s capital.
Bechevinskaya Bay is on Kamchatka’s southeastern coast not far from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Design work on the project has already started, Fridman added.
