Australia’s Woodside Petroleum has held talks with Japan’s Chiyoda about shipping hydrogen in liquid form, the Australian Financial Review reported Woodside Chief Executive Peter Coleman as saying on Tuesday.
Coleman called hydrogen a “game changer” and said that Woodside could produce it from the methane the company extracts offshore Western Australia.
Woodside would then ship it in liquefied form to Japan for fuel cells that could power cars and factories.
