United States-listed Noble Energy has announced it has signed a heads of agreement with Equatorial Guinea’s hydrocarbons ministry to develop gas from the offshore Alen field, which it operates with a 45% interest.

The deal also includes a sales agreement that will see the gas processed through the Alba LPG plant and the Equatorial Guinea LNG (EGLNG) facility, both of which are majority-owned by US-listed Marathon Oil.

The resulting structure would allow Noble, its partners and EGLNG to access global LNG markets – but...
