China National Petroleum Corp. is ready to take over Total’s share in Phase 11 of Iran’s South Pars project if the French oil major is forced to exit Iran by the United States’ decision to re-impose sanctions, according to a Reuters report.

President Donald Trump this week pulled the US out of the Iranian nuclear deal, which was signed by the previous administration of President Barack Obama.
