Eni has initiated a third production unit at its giant Zohr gas field offshore Egypt.
The new unit increases the project’s capacity to 34 million cubic metres per day (MMcm/d) of gas, which represents approximately 200,000 barrels per day of oil equivalent.
The ramp-up comes only six months after the field started production.
The new unit is one of several expected to come online this year and in 2019 that will raise output to a plateau of 76 MMcm/d.
