Bulgaria is hopeful it will be able to broker a compromise agreement among EU countries on a more ambitious 2030 renewables target before Austria takes over the Presidency of the Council of the EU on 1 July. However, time is slipping away to reach a consensus position, and progress is being held back by a divergence in ambition among member states.
