Bangladesh is set to join the growing list of LNG-importing countries next week with the startup of its first FSRU. Excelerate Energy’s 3.5-mtpa Excellence vessel is making its way across the Indian Ocean laden with a Qatari cargo and is expected to be moored offshore Moheshkhali on 24 April

The terminal will be operated by Excelerate under a build-own-operate-transfer model and pass to state-owned Petrobangla after 15 years. First gas will be delivered into the domestic network from 9 May.
