Italy’s Eni could increase its investment in a company created by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology working on nuclear fusion, according to a report from Reuters.

Eni invested $50 million in March for an undisclosed stake in Commonwealth Fusion Systems, which is one of several companies vying to develop the first commercial fusion reactor.

It will cost $3 billion to develop a 200 MW fusion reactor by 2033, according to Casula.
