Delays to the startup of new gas-fired power plants in Pakistan are worrying the country’s governing party, which promised to end power shortages before the end of its current term in July, according to Reuters.
The plants, which use GE turbines, were expected to come online in January and are now likely to start up in April or May but could face further delays.
Pakistan has had to divert LNG cargoes because of the delayed startup of the plants.
