ONGC and Reliance in discussions for Bay of Bengal gas

Indian companies ONGC and Reliance Industries have started discussions with buyers to sell gas from fields in the Bay of Bengal.

Indian companies Oil and Natural Gas Corp. (ONGC) and Reliance Industries have started discussions with buyers to sell gas from fields in the Bay of Bengal, according to Indian newspaper The Economic Times.

They intend to sell the gas to buyers in the west of India, making use of Reliance’s 1,375 km cross-country gas pipeline.

ONGC is committed to bringing new gas supplies onstream by 2019 and intends to ramp up production to 15 million cubic metres per day (MMcm/d).
