Ghana’s deputy energy minister, Mohammed Amin Adam, has announced his country is to launch its first exploration licensing round later this year.
Reuters has reported Ghana will offer six offshore blocks, with interest already shown from several major and independent oil companies, including BP and Shell.
Adam added the country will license a further six blocks next year, and that “very soon we will launch a programme to attract investment into refineries”.
