The number of rigs targeting gas in Latin America increased by one in February 2018 from a year earlier. Guyana resumed exploration for gas in February after 12 months of inactivity, while Colombia ceased exploration for gas after keeping a single rig active onshore from November to January. This keeps the total number of countries with active rigs at six, the same as in February 2017.
