Höegh LNG took delivery of its eighth FSRU – the Esparanza – on Thursday, according to a press release from the company.
The 170,000 cubic metre vessel was built by Hyundai Heavy Industries and was expected to be used for the Penco-Lirquen LNG project in Chile.
However, the project has suffered delays in gaining environmental approval, and Höegh is in advanced negotiations for intermediate employment of the vessel until the project in Chile can be brought online.
