Domestic gas price

India’s government-set domestic gas price was raised by 6% for the six-month period from April to September, to $3.06/MMBtu. The increase is relatively small and is not expected to have much of an impact on the overall affordability of gas for consumers. It is also unlikely to increase interest in developing the country’s upstream reserves. Companies have previously called for a floor price of around $4.20/MMBtu to encourage domestic gas exploration and production.
