Statoil and Lundin granted permission to drill offshore Norway

Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority has given its approval to Statoil to drill appraisal well 15/3-10 in the North Sea

Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) has given its approval to Statoil to drill appraisal well 15/3-10 in the North Sea, the body announced on Tuesday.

The aim is to appraise a previous discovery, 15/3-4 Sigrun, that was proven in 1981. Drilling will begin in mid-April and is estimated to last 52 days.

The PSA also granted Lundin Petroleum permission to drill appraisal well 7220/11-5 S in production licence PL 609 in the Barents Sea.
