Brazil’s LNG imports have fallen by 75% over the past two years as domestic gas production has increased, Bloomberg has reported, citing government data.

“There is no expectation Brazil will become a net exporter anytime soon, but the historical dependence on natural gas is being reduced,” Joao Vitor Velhos, a manager at consultancy Gas Energy, told the newswire.
