The European Commission has invited stakeholders to comment on grid operator TenneT’s proposed commitments to increase cross-border electricity capacity between Germany and Denmark, the commission said on Tuesday.
The commission recently opened an antitrust investigation to assess whether TenneT had restricted border transmission capacity beyond what was necessary on the 3.7 GW interconnector between western Denmark and Germany.
Under TenneT’s proposal, it would offer a minimum guaranteed hourly capacity of 1.3 GW on the interconnector to market participants.
