India plans to establish 65,180 biogas plants this year under the National Biogas and Manure Management Programme, according to the country’s Press Information Bureau.
The programme is run by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and uses gas produced from the decomposition of plant waste and manure.
Around 4.96 million household-size biogas plants have been installed under the programme.
