The UK government has announced its intention to stay in the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) until the end of 2020, when the third period of the scheme expires, the House of Lords said on Wednesday.
“Claire Perry MP, minister of state for energy and clean growth, has told the House of Lords EU Energy and Environment Sub-Committee that the Government intends to stay in the [ETS] until the end of 2020,” the upper house said in a statement.
