The falling price of solar power installations and batteries is boosting the number of projects in Southeast Asia planning to combine the technologies. If this trend continues, it could temper an otherwise rapid rise in LNG demand growth forecast across the region. 

Renewable energy projects featuring electricity storage capacity are appealing because, unlike gas-fired peaking power plants, their costs are typically fixed for the whole of their operational lives.
