European car market to be 10% NGVs by 2030

The number of passenger NGVs in Europe will increase tenfold by 2030, to 13 million vehicles, and will make up at least 10% of the car market.

The number of passenger NGVs in Europe will increase tenfold by 2030, to 13 million vehicles, and will make up at least 10% of the car market, Andrea Gerini, secretary general of NGVA Europe, told Euractiv.

Trucks running on gas will constitutes 20-25% of the European trucking fleet, while 30% of buses will be gas-fuelled, said Gerini.

The industry association expects battery electric vehicles to account for 30% of the passenger fleet in Europe by 2030.
