India’s imports of LNG rose by 9% year on year in 2017, an increase of just over 1.5 mt. This growth is relatively low compared with other countries in Asia, many of which experienced double-digit growth in 2017 – including established importers such as South Korea and Taiwan. It was also significantly lower than the 30% growth India saw in 2016.
